2012 Healthy Schools in motion Champions Workshop
On Friday, April 13th, Healthy Schools in motion held the annual Champions workshop at the Sport for Life Centre in Winnipeg. More than 50 teachers took part in this workshop to learn how to geocache with their students! Click here to view the News Release!

Healthy Schools in motion is now offering the Geocaching Loaner Program in partnership with MPETA. This program will allow in motion schools to geocache and provide students with an innovative experience while being physically active.

Fill out the School Rental Agreement and send it back to MPETA. Geocaching Loaner Kits are available for loan to in motion schools for a two week period. School Rental Agreement

Run 2 Finish Huntington Disease @ Assiniboine Park
Come out and support a great cause! Physical Education teacher and MPETA member, Jeff Bowes from Samuel Burland School, with The Huntington’s Society of Manitoba, is putting on the Run 2 Finish Huntington Disease on June 9th at Assiniboine Park. In preparation for the Manitoba Marathon, this may be a good event for your students as it comes with a free pancake breakfast. Ride2Win Bike Helmet Promotion Campaign
The WRHA launched the Ride2Win helmet promotion campaign and contest on April 10, 2012. Teachers, students, and parents can find information by visiting www.ride2win.ca. Students can enter to win prizes by learning the 2-V-1 helmet fit rule for properly fitting a bike helmet.

PHE Canada Conference - A Harbour of Hope: Health and Physical Literacy
Nova Scotia’s Teachers Association for Physical and Health Educators (TAPHE) and Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada) are partnering for the 2012 National Conference, “A Harbour of Hope: Health and Physical Literacy.”

This National Conference provides an opportunity for delegates to network with colleagues and increase their knowledge and skills to foster healthy active living for children and youth in the school community.

MPESA Mentorship Package
MPESA is pleased to have developed a Mentorship Package for teachers who are new to teaching physical education/health education (PE/HE), or have a new assignment in this area.
