Each year, MPETA presents a number of awards to recognize outstanding contributions to physical education in the province of Manitoba! MPETA believes it is a priority to recognize excellence in the field by honouring these distinguished individuals and organizations for their significant achievements in the previous school year.

Recreation Connections Manitoba and Green Action Centre are working together on a provincial initiative ‘After The School Bell Rings: A Manitoba After School Recreation Project’. The project, funded through the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Province of Manitoba until March 2013, will promote and support increased access and opportunities for children and youth, ages 6-12 years, to engage in physical activity and healthy living practices in the critical after school time period
